Short answer: NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube is more generous than most people assume: unlimited streams at home, two at a time away from home, and sharing with up to five family members at no extra cost. What trips people up is location. The games you see depend on where YouTube thinks you are watching, so a move, a trip or a mis-set home area can make the "wrong" games appear or disappear. And the package is for homes only: bars and restaurants need a separate commercial licence.

| Student plan | One device, one stream, no sharing |
| Bars and restaurants | Separate commercial licence |
Why location decides your games
Sunday Ticket carries out-of-market Sunday afternoon games: those not being shown on your local CBS or Fox station. Which games count as out-of-market depends on where you are, so YouTube has to know your location.
It works that out from your device and network, and may ask you to verify it in the app. The games you're offered, and the ones greyed out because they're on local television, follow from that.
YouTube publishes availability maps every Wednesday during the season, showing which games are on local television where. If a game you expected is missing, the map usually explains why: it's being shown on your local station instead, and you watch it there.
This also means Sunday Ticket doesn't cover your local team's games when they're on your local channel. For those, you need the local CBS or Fox station, through an antenna or a live-TV service. Our guide to watching your local team without cable covers the options.
How many screens you can use
YouTube's rules for Sunday Ticket, as set out in its help pages for 2026:
| Situation | Simultaneous streams |
|---|---|
| On your home network | No limit |
| Away from home | Up to two across the account |
| Student plan, anywhere | One, on one signed-in device |
| Multiview | Several games on one screen, on supported devices |
"Home" is the network you've set as your home area. To get the unlimited in-home allowance, turn on location sharing in the app and set your playback area while connected at home.
YouTube recommends at least 7 Mbps for Sunday Ticket. That's per stream, so a busy Sunday with several televisions and multiview needs considerably more.
Sharing with family
Sunday Ticket is sold through YouTube Primetime Channels or as a YouTube TV add-on, and both can be shared through a Google family group. The account holder can add up to five other members of the household at no extra cost.
Family members use their own Google accounts, which keeps their recommendations and watch history separate. They're bound by the same rules on location and streams.
Two exceptions: a Google Workspace account (typically a work or school account) can't create a family group, and the Student plan can't be shared.
The family group is meant for one household. Sharing a subscription with friends at other addresses isn't what it's for, and YouTube's location checks are designed to catch it.
Watching while travelling
You can watch Sunday Ticket away from home, on a phone, tablet, laptop or a hotel television with a streaming device, within the two-stream limit.
The games follow your location, not your home. In another city, the games treated as local change, so a game you'd watch on Sunday Ticket at home may be blacked out where you are, and shown on that city's local station instead.
Sunday Ticket is a US service. YouTube offers it in selected regions only. Outside the US, the NFL's international package, NFL Game Pass on DAZN, is the licensed route, and it covers every game rather than just Sunday afternoons.
Features worth knowing
Custom multiview. For 2026, YouTube TV users can mix Sunday Ticket games with other live channels, including NFL RedZone, in a single multiview. It's the easiest way to follow your team in full while keeping an eye on the rest of the league. Our RedZone guide suggests layouts.
Key Plays. Joining a game late, you can catch up on the important moments before switching to live.
Unlimited DVR. Through the YouTube TV app, games can be recorded for later.
Watch on most devices. Sunday Ticket works wherever the YouTube or YouTube TV app does: Google TV, Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, recent Samsung and LG televisions, consoles, phones and browsers. Multiview needs a supported device.

Bars, offices and watch parties
The consumer package is licensed for private, residential viewing. Showing it in a bar, restaurant, gym or other business isn't covered, even on a subscription paid for personally.
Businesses buy Sunday Ticket through a separate commercial licence. EverPass, a company backed by the NFL, holds those rights, and for 2026 DirecTV for Business has become its main sales and distribution partner, offering the package to venues by satellite or streaming. Prices depend on the size of the venue.
A watch party at home is fine. Friends watching on your television in your house is private viewing. Charging entry, or showing it in a public space, is not.
Fixing common problems
"This game isn't available in your area." It's on your local station. Check the week's availability map, and watch it there.
The wrong games appear, or none. Your location may be set incorrectly, often after a move or when using a mobile hotspot. Reset your playback area in the app, at home, with location sharing on.
"Too many streams." You're away from your home network, or the app doesn't recognise it as home. Reconfirm your home area, or stop a stream on another device.
Paid, but nothing shows. The television is usually signed in to a different Google account. Check the account in the app's settings.
Using a VPN. A VPN makes your location look different, which typically causes errors or wrong games, and can breach the terms of service. Turn it off for Sunday Ticket.
