IPTV Sports Channels List: Every US Sports Channel and Who Carries It

Short answer: the US has around 30 national sports channels worth knowing, and every one of them is available through at least one licensed live-TV streaming service. The list below groups them by owner, which is the quickest way to understand who carries what. The catch most channel lists miss: a growing share of big games are no longer on a channel at all. Peacock, Paramount+, Prime Video, Netflix and Apple TV now hold exclusive games that no channel line-up, however long, can include.

How to read this list

A sports "channel list" is only useful if you know two things about each channel: who owns it, and how it's sold.

Ownership matters because channels are licensed to streaming services in groups. If a service has a deal with Disney, it gets the ESPN family together; if it doesn't, it gets none of them. Carriage disputes, when they happen, take out whole families at once.

How it's sold matters because the same channel may be in one service's base plan and in another's add-on. Channels such as NFL RedZone and NHL Network are frequently add-ons.

The licensed live-TV services in the US are YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, DirecTV, Sling and, for entertainment rather than sport, Philo. Several networks also sell their channels direct: ESPN Unlimited, Fox One and others.

The national channels, by owner

Owner Channels Key sports Direct streaming option
Disney (ESPN) ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, ACC Network, NFL Network NFL, NBA, college sports, NHL ESPN Unlimited
Fox FS1, FS2, Big Ten Network, Fox Deportes MLB, college football, NASCAR, soccer Fox One
Warner Bros. Discovery TNT, TBS, truTV NHL, MLB, college football and basketball, NASCAR HBO Max (sports streams)
Versant USA Network, Golf Channel Premier League, Bundesliga, WWE SmackDown, golf Limited
Paramount CBS Sports Network College sports, shoulder programming Paramount+ (for CBS content)
Broadcast networks ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, The CW NFL, college football, the biggest events Free with an antenna

The broadcast networks belong on any sports list. Most of the biggest games of the year, including the Super Bowl, air on them, and an antenna receives them free. See local channels without cable.

League-owned channels

Several leagues run their own channels, carrying studio shows, some live games and a lot of archive.

Channel Live games? How it's usually sold
NFL Network Some regular-season games Base on most services; in ESPN Unlimited since July 2026
NFL RedZone Whip-around on Sunday afternoons Sports add-on, or NFL+ Premium
MLB Network Some games, subject to blackouts Base or add-on, varies by service
NBA TV Some games Often a sports add-on
NHL Network Some games Usually a sports add-on

For RedZone specifically, see IPTV with RedZone.

Specialist and international channels

Tennis Channel carries many ATP and WTA events and much of the clay season. It's typically in a sports add-on.

Golf Channel carries early rounds of PGA Tour events, the LPGA and much more. It's in most base plans.

beIN Sports carries Ligue 1, some other European football and international events. It's in some base plans, a sports add-on on others, and also sold through Fanatiz.

Fox Soccer Plus, Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and others round out the sports add-on packs.

Spanish-language sport: ESPN Deportes, Fox Deportes, TUDN and Telemundo carry much of the soccer calendar in Spanish. See our Spanish-language TV guide.

Regional sports networks

Regional sports networks carry local MLB, NBA and NHL teams. They're the channels most fans actually care about, and the hardest to get over the internet.

Coverage is patchy. Some live-TV services carry certain regional networks in certain markets. None carries them all, and Sling carries very few.

Direct options have grown. Many teams and networks now sell their own streaming subscriptions, and several teams have moved games back to free local broadcast channels.

Our guide to regional sports network streaming covers the options by region.

Games that aren't on any channel

This is the part a channel list can't capture, and it matters more every season. Big rights packages now go straight to streaming services:

Prime Video has Thursday Night Football and a national NBA package. Netflix has NFL Christmas games and major boxing. Peacock has most Premier League matches and exclusive NFL and NBA games. Paramount+ has UFC, the Champions League and Serie A. Apple TV has every MLS match and Formula 1 in the US.

None of these appears in a live-TV service's channel guide. If someone offers a "complete" sports channel list that includes them as channels, it's a rebroadcast they aren't licensed to make, with the reliability and legal risks that go with it. See how to spot an IPTV scam.

Turning the list into a subscription

Start with your sports, not the channels. Write down the leagues and teams you follow, then find which channels and streaming services carry them.

Group by owner. If most of what you watch is on ESPN networks, ESPN Unlimited may be enough. If it's split between ESPN and Fox, their combined bundle is cheaper than a full package.

Add a live-TV service only if you need breadth. Local channels without an antenna, regional networks, or a household that also watches news and entertainment are good reasons.

Then add the streaming exclusives your sports need. Most can be subscribed to just for the months when your season runs.

Quick answers

What are the main sports channels in the US? The ESPN family, Fox Sports channels including FS1 and Big Ten Network, TNT and TBS, USA Network and Golf Channel, CBS Sports Network, the league networks, and the broadcast networks ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC.

Which streaming service has the most sports channels? DirecTV, YouTube TV, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV all carry most national sports channels, with some offered as add-ons. The exact mix varies by service and plan.

Is NFL RedZone in base plans? Usually not. It's typically a sports add-on, or available through NFL+ Premium.

Can I get regional sports networks by streaming? Sometimes. Some live-TV services carry some regional networks, and many teams now sell direct subscriptions.

Why can't I find some games on any channel? Because they're exclusive to streaming services such as Prime Video, Peacock, Paramount+, Netflix or Apple TV.

Which sports channels are free? ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and The CW with an antenna, plus free ad-supported streaming channels with news and highlights.

Is a cheap IPTV list with every sports channel legal? No licensed service carries every channel and every streaming exclusive. A list that claims to is rebroadcasting without permission.
