Short answer: the cheapest licensed way to get a lot of simultaneous screens isn't the most expensive live TV bundle. Frndly TV's $12.99 Premium plan allows four streams; Sling Orange at roughly three times the price allows one. Across the services below, base limits run from one to "unlimited at home", and the number that usually bites is the away-from-home cap or a sports app's own lower limit, not the headline figure.
At a glance
Screen limits, October 2026
| Most screens at home | DirecTV Stream (unlimited), Fubo (up to 10) |
| Fewest | Sling Orange and Frndly Basic: 1 |
| Cheapest 4 screens | Frndly TV Premium, $12.99/month |
| Common add-on | About $9.99/month for "unlimited" at home |
| Watch out for | League apps with a 1-stream base tier |
The full table: live TV bundles
This is the reference list. Each row is the number of streams one subscription can play at the same moment, which is what IPTV sellers call "connections". Prices are the standard US monthly rate before promotions or regional sports fees, rounded, and they move often. Where a service didn't publish a clear figure we could confirm, the row says so.
| Service | Streams at once | Way to get more | Away from home | Approx. price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DirecTV Stream | Unlimited on home network | Not needed | 3 | From ~$60 (Entertainment, after promo) to $90+ |
| Fubo | Up to 10 at home on US English plans | Included | 2-3 | From ~$74 |
| YouTube TV | 3 per account (shared by family members) | 4K Plus add-on, ~$9.99: unlimited at home | 3 | ~$83 |
| Hulu + Live TV | 2 | Unlimited Screens, ~$9.99: unlimited at home | Capped (small number on mobile) | ~$90 |
| Sling Orange | 1 | Switch plan | Same 1 | ~$46 |
| Sling Blue | 3 | Combine with Orange | Account-wide | ~$51 |
| Sling Orange & Blue | 4 (1 on Orange channels + 3 on Blue) | None beyond 4 | Account-wide | ~$61-66 |
| Philo | 3 | None | Within the 3 | $25 (Bundle+ $33) |
| Frndly TV Basic | 1 | Upgrade tier | Within the 1 | $8.99 |
| Frndly TV Classic | 2 | Upgrade tier | Within the 2 | $10.99 |
| Frndly TV Premium | 4 | None | Within the 4 | $12.99 |
The Sling detail people miss. On Orange & Blue, the four streams aren't interchangeable. Only one of them can be watching an Orange-only channel such as ESPN at a time. Two people wanting ESPN on different TVs is a conflict even though the app says you have four screens.
YouTube TV's three are per account, not per person. Up to six family members get their own logins and DVR libraries, but they all draw on the same pool of three. A household of five with three busy evenings will hit it.
Philo and Frndly are entertainment-only, with no local channels or sports networks, which is why they're cheap. They're on the list because "four screens for under $13" is a real answer for some families.
Sports and single-network apps
Here's where households get caught out. A league or network app sets its own limit, and it's often lower than the bundle sitting next to it.
| App | Streams at once | Price (Oct 2026) | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| ESPN Unlimited | 3, one household | $31.99 | Free sign-in if your TV package has ESPN |
| Fox One | Check Fox's help page; reported as 3 | $19.99 | Multiview counts as one screen on supported devices |
| Peacock Premium | 3 | $12.99 (from 17 Sept 2026) | Premier League, NBA, Sunday Night Football |
| Paramount+ | 3 | Varies by tier | CBS sport, UFC from 2026 |
| NBA League Pass | 1 (standard), 3 (Premium) | Seasonal | The classic one-stream trap |
| NFL Sunday Ticket | Limited, and not shareable outside the home | Seasonal | Check YouTube's terms for the current count |
| MLB.TV, NHL, DAZN | Usually 1-2 | Varies | Confirm in each app's help centre before a big weekend |
If two people in the house want two different out-of-market games, the standard NBA League Pass tier simply can't do it. It is one of the most common "too many streams" complaints on sports apps, and the fix is the premium tier, not a different live TV service.
The on-demand services you'll stack on top
Most households run one live service plus two or three on-demand ones, and every one keeps its own count. For completeness, the top tiers:
| Service | Top-tier streams | Cheaper tiers |
|---|---|---|
| Netflix Premium | 4 | 2 on Standard and Standard with ads |
| Disney+ Premium | 4 | Check plan page |
| HBO Max Premium | 4 | 2 on Basic and Standard |
| Prime Video | 3 | Same on all tiers; max 2 on the same title |
The practical point: the live service is rarely the bottleneck on a weeknight. It's whichever on-demand app three people opened at once.
Price per screen, worked out
Dividing the monthly price by the screens you can actually use at home gives a rough value figure. It's crude, since channel lineups differ wildly, but it shows where extra screens are cheap.
| Setup | Monthly | Screens at home | Per screen |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frndly TV Premium | $12.99 | 4 | ~$3.25 |
| Philo | $25 | 3 | ~$8.30 |
| Sling Blue | ~$51 | 3 | ~$17 |
| YouTube TV | ~$83 | 3 | ~$28 |
| Hulu + Live TV | ~$90 | 2 | ~$45 |
| Sling Orange | ~$46 | 1 | ~$46 |
| Fubo (5 TVs in use) | ~$74 | up to 10 | ~$15 or less |
Two conclusions. Hulu + Live TV and Sling Orange are poor value for big households unless you pay for more screens or switch tier. And once a family regularly runs four or more TVs, Fubo and DirecTV Stream stop looking expensive, because the extra screens are already in the price. Our guide to plans for households with 4+ screens goes deeper on that end of the market.
Three rules hiding behind the numbers
1. "Unlimited" means unlimited at home. Every add-on or plan sold as unlimited (YouTube TV's 4K Plus, Hulu's Unlimited Screens, DirecTV Stream) lifts the cap only on your home network. Away from it, a fixed small number applies, usually three.
2. Home is set by a TV device. Services generally define your home as the network where a living-room device signs in, and many ask a device to check in from it periodically. A second house, a student flat or a grandparent's TV is "away", even if only one person is watching. That's covered in detail in our explainer on how stream limits are enforced.
3. A stopped stream isn't always released instantly. Switching a TV off at the wall mid-programme can leave a session counted for several minutes. If you're at your limit, stop playback before turning the set off.
For how these limits behave in everyday use, our earlier piece on how legal live TV services handle screens walks through the home-network check and travel rules.
Where playlist "connections" fit
Search "IPTV with multiple connections" and most results are sellers offering a 2-, 3- or 5-connection playlist login. Two things to know.
A connection on a playlist login is the same idea as a stream above: one channel playing on one device. A player app such as TiviMate or IPTV Smarters doesn't add connections; it uses whatever the login allows. If your login is from a legitimate operator, such as a cable or telecom company's own IPTV service or a licensed international package, the provider's terms set the count.
Most of the cheap multi-connection plans sold by resellers aren't licensed for the channels they carry. There's no consumer protection when they disappear mid-season, device makers including Amazon now block apps tied to them, and nothing in the table above applies to them because they have no published terms. We don't list them. If you're unsure which kind you have, our guide to checking whether a provider is licensed is a five-minute test.
Picking by household size
One or two screens. Almost anything works. Sling Orange is the only common plan that won't cover two people, and Frndly Basic is the other single-screen trap.
Three screens. YouTube TV, Sling Blue, Philo and ESPN Unlimited all fit without an add-on. Hulu + Live TV needs Unlimited Screens.
Four screens. Sling Orange & Blue (with the one-Orange-channel caveat), Frndly Premium, or YouTube TV or Hulu with their roughly $9.99 add-on.
Five or more. Fubo or DirecTV Stream, where the screens are already included, or an add-on on YouTube TV. Before paying for a sixth stream, check your broadband: several 4K streams at once need real headroom, which we cover in internet speed for 4K streaming.
Honest opinion: paying $10 a month for unlimited screens is only worth it if you hit the limit more than a couple of times a month. Most families who think they need it actually need a second on-demand profile or the premium tier of one sports app.
Quick answers
Which live TV service allows the most simultaneous streams? DirecTV Stream allows unlimited streams on your home network, with three away from home. Fubo allows up to ten at home on its US English plans.
What is the cheapest service with four screens? Frndly TV Premium, at $12.99 a month, allows four simultaneous streams, though it has no local channels or sports networks.
How many screens does Sling TV allow? One on Sling Orange, three on Sling Blue and four on Orange & Blue, where only one stream can be on an Orange-only channel at a time.
Does YouTube TV give each family member three streams? No. Three streams are shared across the whole family group. The 4K Plus add-on lifts the limit on the home network.
Do unlimited screen add-ons work away from home? No. They remove the limit on your home network only. Away from home a fixed cap, usually three streams, still applies.
Do sports apps share my live TV service's stream limit? No. League and network apps such as NBA League Pass or ESPN set their own limits, which are often lower.
Does an IPTV player app add more connections? No. A player plays the login you give it, and the connection count is set by whoever issued that login.
Stream limits, add-on prices and home-network rules change without notice, and several services list different figures in different help articles. Prices are approximate standard US rates before promotions and local fees; confirm on each provider's site before you subscribe. Checked October 2026.
