IPTV Ukrainian Channels: Watching Legally From the US in 2026

Short answer: you don't need a special "Ukrainian IPTV" box to watch Ukrainian TV from the US. Most of the channels people actually want, especially the news ones, put an official live stream online for free, either on their own website or on YouTube. The catch is entertainment: series, films and big shows from 1+1, STB or ICTV are often geo-restricted or sit behind each group's own app, and that's where the $10-a-month resellers step in with streams they have no right to sell.

What Ukrainian TV looks like in 2026

A lot of the advice online about Ukrainian channels is years out of date, and some of it lists channels that no longer exist. Three changes matter.

First, several channels closed. Kanal Ukraina (Channel Ukraine) and its sister channels stopped broadcasting in July 2022 when their owner handed back the licences. Older closures, such as 112 Ukraine and NewsOne in 2021, also still turn up in "channel lists".

Second, since the full-scale invasion, the main groups' news output has been pooled into a joint 24-hour news marathon, United News (Yedyni Novyny). It runs on several channels at once. So if you want daytime news from 1+1, ICTV or Inter, you're largely getting the same marathon, whichever logo is in the corner. Its future has been debated in Ukraine, so check what's on before you build a setup around it.

Third, independent news channels such as Espreso and 24 Kanal moved much of their audience online. Their live streams on their own websites and official YouTube channels are free and available worldwide, which is good news for viewers abroad.

Inside Ukraine, the most-watched channels on IPTV and OTT platforms in late 2025 were still the big entertainment brands. The Ukrainian Premier League's own figures for October 2025 put STB at the top, with 10.63% of viewing on those networks, and showed its UPL.TV football channel taking almost 40% of sports viewing.

Channel by channel: the official route

This is where each of the commonly searched channels can be found officially from the US. "Free" means the broadcaster itself streams it, not a third-party site that has copied the feed.

Channel / group What it is Official route from the US
Suspilne (UA:Pershyi, Kultura, Novyny) Public broadcaster Free on its website and official YouTube
1+1 International 1+1's channel for viewers abroad 1+1 International app (paid, small fee)
1+1, 2+2, TET, PLUSPLUS 1+1 Media domestic channels 1+1 Video service; overseas access not guaranteed
STB, ICTV, Novyi Kanal StarLightMedia entertainment Clips and shows on official YouTube; full live TV usually Ukraine-only
Inter Entertainment and news Official website and YouTube clips
Espreso, 24 Kanal News Free live streams on website and YouTube
Rada TV Parliament channel Free online
Freedom State-funded channel for foreign audiences Free online
UPL.TV, Setanta Ukraine Football and sport Sold mainly inside Ukraine; rights abroad vary by match

The pattern is clear: news and public TV travel freely, while entertainment and sport are licensed territory by territory, just like American networks are. A channel group can't sell you its drama abroad if the studio only sold it the Ukrainian rights.

The free routes, and how to get them on a TV

For a lot of households, especially older relatives who mainly want the news, the free official streams are the whole answer.

  • Broadcaster websites. Suspilne, Espreso, 24 Kanal and Rada all have a live player on their sites. They work in any desktop browser.
  • Official YouTube channels. Many Ukrainian channels run 24/7 YouTube live streams. On a TV, the YouTube app is the easiest route of all: it's already on every Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, Samsung and LG set. Subscribe to the channels on one account and they show up under Subscriptions.
  • Check the verification badge. YouTube is full of re-uploads and fake "LIVE" streams that loop old footage. Stick to the channel the broadcaster links to from its own website.

If you'd also like free American channels alongside, the usual ad-supported services (Pluto TV, Tubi, The Roku Channel) have no Ukrainian-language live channels as of this writing, but they're handy for the rest of the house. Our guide to free live TV streaming apps lists what each one carries.

1+1 International is the clearest paid option. 1+1 Media's own company publishes the app in the US App Store for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and it carries the international version of the 1+1 channel: TSN news, documentaries, entertainment and cartoons. The in-app prices listed are $1.99 for a month, $2.99 for three months and $9.99 for a year. That's cheap, but there's a catch you should know before paying: the listing shows the last app update as February 2020. Try the one-month plan first, and check that it still plays before taking the year.

1+1 Video, the group's main streaming service, has a free tier with ads and paid plans priced in hryvnia (from about ₴89 a month in 2026 listings). Its listings name Ukraine as the region, so don't count on it working from the US; sign up for the free tier first and test it.

A few streaming platforms with Ukrainian channels also advertise to the diaspora. Before paying any of them, apply one test: does the company name the broadcasters it has agreements with, and do those broadcasters list it as a partner? If the answer is vague, treat it like any other unverified seller. Our explainer on how to check whether an IPTV provider is licensed walks through the checks.

What you won't find is a Ukrainian add-on on the big American live TV services. Sling's international packs, Fubo and YouTube TV don't carry Ukrainian channels as of October 2026.

Getting it onto the living-room TV

Device Easiest way in
Apple TV YouTube app, plus the 1+1 International tvOS app
Roku, Fire TV, Google TV YouTube app for live news channels
Smart TV (Samsung, LG) Built-in YouTube; cast from a phone for website-only streams
Laptop + HDMI cable Any broadcaster website; the most reliable fallback

For website-only streams, casting a browser tab from Chrome to a Chromecast or Google TV device works, though it's less smooth than a native app. If you're helping a parent set this up, put the two or three channels they want into YouTube subscriptions and leave it there. Our five ways to get live TV on the big screen covers the hardware side in more detail.

Why the cheap packages are a bad bet

Search for Ukrainian IPTV and you'll quickly see sellers offering hundreds of Ukrainian, Russian and Eastern European channels for around $10 a month, often on a box shipped with the app pre-loaded. Almost none of them have rights to the channels. They capture the Ukrainian feeds and resell them.

Beyond the legal problem, there are practical ones. These services vanish without notice, and some take a year's payment up front. Ukrainian broadcasters and their industry groups have also pushed for blocking of pirate streams, so the sites and apps get cut off regularly. Many of those packages are also built mainly around Russian state channels. That's not what most Ukrainian families are looking for.

Time zones, catch-up and kids' TV

Kyiv is seven hours ahead of New York and ten ahead of Los Angeles, so an evening bulletin at 19:30 Kyiv time, the traditional slot for 1+1's TSN, lands at 12:30 p.m. Eastern. That's why replay matters more than live for most viewers here. Official YouTube channels usually post the full news bulletins soon after they air, which beats any live-only setup.

For children, YouTube channels from Ukrainian kids' brands and PLUSPLUS clips are the simplest legal source. Put them on a supervised YouTube Kids profile rather than handing over a box full of unknown channels.

Quick answers

Can I watch Ukrainian TV in the US for free?

Yes, for news and public TV. Suspilne, Espreso, 24 Kanal, Rada and several others stream live for free on their websites and official YouTube channels, which work from the US.

Is there a Ukrainian package on Sling or YouTube TV?

No. As of October 2026, none of the major US live TV services sells a Ukrainian channel add-on.

How much is the 1+1 International app?

The US App Store lists $1.99 for one month, $2.99 for three months and $9.99 for a year. The app has not been updated since 2020, so try a month first.

What is United News?

It is the joint 24-hour news marathon set up by Ukraine's main broadcasters in 2022. Several channels air it at the same time, so their daytime news is largely identical.

Does Channel Ukraine still broadcast?

No. Kanal Ukraina and its sister channels stopped broadcasting in July 2022 after their owner gave up the licences.

Are cheap Ukrainian IPTV boxes legal?

Almost never. Sellers offering hundreds of Ukrainian and Russian channels for a few dollars a month do not hold the rights, and the service can stop at any time with no refund.

What's the easiest setup for older parents?

Use the YouTube app on the TV they already have, subscribe to the two or three official channels they watch, and turn on autoplay for live streams.

Ukrainian channels change their online access, prices and geo-restrictions often, and the future of the United News marathon has been under discussion. App prices are those listed in the US App Store at the time of writing. Checked October 2026.
