Short answer: most people searching for Turkish channels in the US want one of two things: the evening dizi (drama series) or live news and football from home. The dizi part is easy and cheap to get legally, through TRT's tabii app, the networks' own YouTube channels, Netflix and, for Spanish speakers, Kanal D Drama on Roku. Live Turkish channels are the hard part. Turkish networks rarely license their full live feeds to US TV services, so many of their own live streams stop at the border. That gap is why a market of cheap, unlicensed "every Turkish channel" playlists exists.

Why live Turkish TV is so hard to buy in the US
Turkish television earns a lot of its money abroad, but mostly by selling series rather than channels. Shows like Diriliş: Ertuğrul and the big Kanal D and Show TV dramas are licensed title by title to broadcasters across Latin America, the Middle East and the Balkans. A distributor who has paid for a show in Mexico doesn't want the original live channel streaming freely next door.
So the networks protect their live feeds. Inside Turkey, their websites and apps stream the channel live. Outside it, many of those same streams either stop working or show a "not available in your region" notice, particularly for films, imported shows and football, which the networks don't hold worldwide rights to.
Europe is a partial exception: several broadcasters run separate "Avrupa" (Europe) versions of their channels for the large Turkish communities in Germany and the Netherlands. North America has never had an equivalent with the same depth. The US satellite packages that once carried Turkish channels have mostly gone, and the big live-TV streamers carry little or no Turkish programming.
The practical result: in the US you build Turkish TV from on-demand apps and official free streams, not from one live channel package.
Channel by channel: where each one legally lives
This is the table most people actually need. "Official stream" means the broadcaster's own website, app or verified YouTube channel; whether the live part plays in the US depends on the programme.
| Channel | Best known for | Licensed route from the US |
|---|---|---|
| TRT 1 | Historical dizi, family drama | tabii app; TRT's official YouTube channels |
| TRT World | English-language news | Free live stream on its website and YouTube |
| Kanal D | Prime-time drama | Official YouTube episodes; Kanal D Drama on Roku (Spanish dub) |
| Show TV, Star TV, ATV, NOW | Drama, comedy, reality | Official YouTube channels, usually full episodes after broadcast |
| TRT Haber, NTV, CNN Türk, Habertürk | News | Live streams on their own sites and YouTube, where offered abroad |
| beIN Sports Türkiye, S Sport | Süper Lig and European football | Not sold to US viewers; see the football section |
Two habits save frustration. First, search for the channel's verified YouTube account rather than a show name, because re-uploads by strangers come and go. Second, if a live stream on a broadcaster's site won't play, try the same channel's news or YouTube live feed: news is usually the part they're allowed to show abroad.
tabii, TRT's own streaming app
tabii is the streaming service of TRT, Turkey's public broadcaster, launched in 2023. It's where TRT puts its own drama, including the Ertuğrul and Osman-era historical series that made Turkish TV famous abroad, plus originals, films, documentaries and children's shows.
It's available in the US. The US App Store listing, published by Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu, shows the app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, with menus in English, Arabic, Spanish, Turkish and Urdu. The app is free to download, and the listing shows these in-app options:
| Option shown in the US App Store | Price |
|---|---|
| Ad-supported, monthly | $4.99 |
| Premium | $6.99 |
| Basic (longer term) | $49.99 |
| Premium (longer term) | $69.99 |
The listing doesn't spell out the billing period for the two larger amounts; they look like annual plans, but confirm on the purchase screen before you tap. Prices bought through Google Play or tabii's website can differ.
What tabii is not, according to its US listing, is a live TV service. It describes itself as on-demand. Some third-party sites say tabii carries live TRT channels, but that appears to depend on your region. Treat it as a dizi library, not a replacement for TRT 1 live.
For many households that's fine. If what your family really watches is TRT's historical drama, $4.99 to $6.99 a month is the cheapest complete legal answer.
The networks' official YouTube channels
This is the part people overlook. Turkish networks publish an enormous amount of their prime-time drama on their own verified YouTube channels, often as full episodes shortly after the Turkish broadcast. Many popular series also have separate official channels with English or Spanish subtitles aimed at viewers abroad.
It's free, legal and works on every streaming device and smart TV with a YouTube app. The trade-offs are adverts, a delay after the live broadcast, and the fact that not every series or every episode is posted. Imported formats and films usually aren't.
A sensible routine: subscribe to the official channels for the two or three shows you follow, turn on notifications, and watch from the YouTube app on the TV. For a parent or grandparent, that's often simpler than any paid service. Our streaming set-up guide for seniors covers making that home screen easy to use.
The same accounts often run live streams for news programmes and special broadcasts. If a live feed is region-locked, YouTube will tell you so plainly rather than buffering forever.
Netflix, Kanal D Drama and the rest
Netflix commissions Turkish originals and licenses Turkish series, and the US catalogue includes a fair number of both. It won't give you a live channel, and titles rotate, but if you already pay for Netflix, search "Turkish" before buying anything else.
Kanal D Drama is a subscription service of Turkish dramas dubbed into Spanish, run by Canal+ Distribution. It launched on Roku Premium Subscriptions in the US and Mexico in November 2025, with a seven-day free trial and billing through your Roku account. The launch announcement didn't give a US price, so check it in The Roku Channel before the trial ends. It's an excellent fit for Spanish-speaking households that discovered Turkish drama on Latin American TV, and a poor one if you want the original Turkish audio.
Free ad-supported channels on platforms such as The Roku Channel, Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus occasionally include Turkish-drama channels, usually dubbed or subtitled. Line-ups change, but checking costs nothing. Our explainer on FAST channels shows where to look.
Turkish streaming apps built for Turkey, such as the services that sell domestic subscriptions in lira, generally don't sell to US accounts. Even when an app installs, the catalogue it shows abroad is often much smaller.
Turkish football
Here we have to be blunt: there's no simple licensed way to watch every Süper Lig match live in the US, and we couldn't confirm a single US home for the 2026-27 season. The league's international rights are sold separately from the domestic ones, and they have moved between distributors in recent seasons.
What to do instead:
- Check the Süper Lig's official international broadcaster list before the season and again in January, when deals sometimes change.
- Turkish clubs in the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League are covered by the US UEFA rights holder, which is Paramount+ for 2026-27. That's the easiest way to watch Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe or Beşiktaş in Europe.
- National-team qualifiers are sold match by match; the visiting country's rights holder isn't always the one you'd expect.
Football is the single biggest reason people buy unlicensed Turkish playlists, because the domestic pay channels that show it aren't for sale here. We understand the frustration. But those streams are the ones most aggressively taken down, so they're also the ones most likely to freeze on derby day.
Three set-ups and what they cost
| Set-up | What's in it | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Official YouTube channels, broadcasters' news streams, TRT World, free FAST channels | $0 |
| Dizi fan | tabii plus the free set-up | About $5 to $7 |
| Spanish-speaking household | Kanal D Drama on Roku plus Netflix's Turkish titles | Kanal D Drama price plus your Netflix plan |
Add Paramount+ in the months a Turkish club is in Europe. That's still well under what a typical unlicensed annual playlist costs, and nothing here can vanish overnight with your money.
Device-wise, every option above runs on Roku, Fire TV, Google TV and Apple TV. tabii's iOS listing requires tvOS 18.1 or later on Apple TV, so an older Apple TV may need an update first.
About the cheap Turkish channel lists
Search results for this topic are crowded with sellers offering "all Turkish channels, HD, with beIN" for a small yearly fee, usually with a 24-hour trial and payment by crypto or a messaging app. They're not licensed. No company has the right to resell beIN Sports Türkiye or the full Turkish network line-up to US households at those prices.
That matters practically, not just legally. Football channels on those lists fail at exactly the moments demand peaks. Services disappear without refunds. And the player apps they push are increasingly blocked by the app stores themselves. Our guides to spotting an IPTV scam and whether you need a VPN explain the risks in more detail.
For comparison, our Arabic TV guide shows how another diaspora audience got a proper licensed live package in the US. Turkish viewers are still waiting for one, so for now the free and on-demand routes are the honest answer.
Quick answers
How can I watch Turkish TV channels in the USA legally? Use TRT's tabii app for TRT drama, the networks' official YouTube channels for full episodes, broadcasters' own sites for news, and Netflix or Kanal D Drama on Roku for more series. There's no single licensed US package with every live Turkish channel.
Is tabii available in the US? Yes. TRT's tabii app is in the US App Store and is free to download, with paid options from $4.99 a month for an ad-supported plan and $6.99 for Premium as listed in October 2026.
Does tabii have live TRT 1? Its US App Store listing describes it as an on-demand service and doesn't mention live channels, so don't count on live TRT 1 through it in the US.
Why won't Turkish channel live streams play in the US? Many programmes, especially films, imported shows and football, are licensed to the networks for Turkey only, so their live streams are region-locked abroad.
Where can I watch Turkish dramas dubbed in Spanish? Kanal D Drama, which launched on Roku Premium Subscriptions in the US and Mexico in November 2025 with a seven-day free trial.
Can I watch the Süper Lig in the US? Not through one simple licensed service that we could confirm for 2026-27. Turkish clubs' European matches are on Paramount+, and the league publishes its international broadcasters each season.
Are cheap Turkish IPTV playlists legal? No. Sellers offering every Turkish channel, including beIN Sports Türkiye, for a few dollars a month don't hold the rights, and they often stop working without refunds.
Turkish broadcasters change which programmes they stream abroad, App Store prices vary by region and change over time, and football rights are resold most seasons. Check each app's purchase screen and the league's broadcaster list before paying. Checked October 2026.
