Short answer: Fox One is Fox's direct-to-consumer app: $19.99 a month for live Fox (your local station where available), FS1, FS2, Big Ten Network, Fox Deportes, Fox News, Fox Business and Fox Weather, with no cable subscription required. The catch is that it is designed for people without TV packages. If your current service already carries Fox channels, you can usually sign in to the Fox One app at no extra cost, and paying again is money wasted.

What Fox One actually is
Fox One launched on 21 August 2025, a few days after ESPN's own direct service. It gathers Fox Corporation's news and sport networks into one app, live and on demand, for people who have left cable and satellite behind.
It is not a full live-TV service. It carries only Fox-owned networks, so there is no CBS, NBC, ESPN, CNN or entertainment cable. Think of it as the Fox slice of a cable package, sold on its own.
Fox has been explicit about its target market: households that currently get no pay-TV at all, rather than people already paying for a package that includes Fox.
Channels and sport included
| Channel | What it brings |
|---|---|
| Fox (local or national feed) | NFL Sundays, MLB postseason, college football, the FIFA World Cup 2026 |
| FS1 | College football and basketball, MLB, NASCAR, soccer, UFL |
| FS2 | Overflow sport, motorsport, soccer |
| Big Ten Network | Big Ten football, basketball and Olympic sports |
| Fox Deportes | Spanish-language sport, including soccer and MLB |
| Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Weather | Live news and on-demand shows |
Local Fox stations are included where Fox owns the station or has an agreement with the affiliate. Coverage is broad but not universal, so check your ZIP code on Fox One's site before subscribing if Sunday NFL is the reason you are buying.
Fox Soccer Plus is not included, and neither is Fox Nation, which is sold separately or as a bundle.
Price and the ways to buy it
| Option | Price (Sept 2026) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Fox One monthly | $19.99 | Cancel any time |
| Fox One annual | $199.99 | Roughly two months free |
| Fox One + Fox Nation | $24.99 | Adds Fox Nation's library |
| ESPN Unlimited + Fox One | $39.99 | Saves about $12 against separate subscriptions |
| Prime Video add-on | $19.99 | Billed through Amazon, watched in the Prime Video app |
Some Verizon mobile and home broadband plans offer Fox One as a discounted perk, and promotions on the ESPN bundle appear near the start of football season. Fox has occasionally offered short free trials; do not count on one being available.
After ESPN's price rise on 17 September 2026, the ESPN half of that bundle alone is $31.99, which makes the $39.99 pairing look better value than it did at launch. Our ESPN streaming service guide covers what ESPN brings.
If you already have a TV package
This is the point most coverage buries. Fox One supports authentication: if you already receive Fox channels through a cable, satellite or live-streaming service, you can sign in to the Fox One app with that account.
Services such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV and Fubo carry the Fox networks, so their subscribers generally have little reason to pay Fox One's standalone price. What they gain is simply another app for the same channels.
Before subscribing, open the Fox One app and look for the option to sign in with a TV provider. If yours is listed, try that first.
Features: DVR, multiview, quality
Cloud DVR. Fox One lets you record live programmes, with recordings kept for many months. That is unusual for a single-network app and a genuine advantage over ESPN's app, which has no comparable DVR.
Multiview. Up to four live feeds can share the screen on supported devices, which is useful on busy college football Saturdays.
Picture quality. Most live sport streams in 1080p. Fox has offered selected marquee events in 4K on compatible devices, but 4K is not the default, and reviewers have found it limited.
Devices. Apps are available for Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV and Android TV, iOS and Android, plus the web. Smart TV and console support has been expanding; check the app store on your own device.
Fox One for the NFL: what it covers
Fox carries the bulk of NFC Sunday afternoon games and the national 4:25pm "America's Game of the Week" in many weeks. With Fox One you get whichever Fox game is shown in your market.
What it does not give you: CBS's AFC games, Sunday Night Football on NBC, Monday Night Football on ESPN, Thursday Night Football on Prime Video, or out-of-market games, which require NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube.
That is why the ESPN bundle exists. Fox plus ESPN covers a large share of national windows but still leaves CBS, NBC and Amazon uncovered. Our NFL streaming guide maps every window.
Fox One against the alternatives
The useful comparison is not Fox One versus nothing, but Fox One versus the other ways of getting the same games.
| Route | Approx. monthly | Fox channels | Everything else |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antenna | $0 after purchase | Local Fox only | Other free local networks |
| Fox One | $19.99 | All Fox networks | None |
| ESPN Unlimited + Fox One | $39.99 | All Fox networks | ESPN networks, ABC, NFL Network |
| Sling TV Blue | Around $46 | FS1, local Fox in some cities | Mix of cable channels |
| YouTube TV | Around $83 | All, with local Fox | Most national networks plus locals |
The antenna is the overlooked winner for people who mainly want Sunday football: the over-the-air picture is often better than any stream, and there is no monthly fee.
Fox One makes most sense for college football fans who need FS1 and Big Ten Network, and for those who want Fox's news channels without a full package.
A full live-TV service only pays off if you also want CBS, NBC, ESPN and cable entertainment, and at that point Fox One is redundant.
Who should skip it
Anyone already paying for a live-TV service with Fox channels. Sign in instead.
People who only want local Fox. A decent indoor antenna picks up Fox free over the air in most US cities, including NFL games, in excellent quality.
Viewers outside the US. Fox One is a US service. Fox's Mexican service is a separate product with different sport.
Those drawn by unofficial "Fox" IPTV lists. Unlicensed resellers advertise Fox channels cheaply, but they hold no rights, can vanish mid-season and are increasingly blocked by device makers. Fox One, an antenna or a licensed live-TV service are the legitimate routes.
